Our Team

Dr. Chau Lam is a compassionate and dedicated optometrist with over 10 years of experience in providing comprehensive eye care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from UC Davis and her Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, with a special interest in Sports Vision Optometry. Dr. Lam completed her primary eye care training at Patrick Air Force Base in Satellite Beach, FL, and her ocular disease training at Retina Eye Institute in Honolulu, HI, and Fresno VA hospital, CA.

In her spare time, Dr. Lam enjoys being active. She is an avid snowboarder who loves learning new tricks on and off the park. She also enjoys skateboarding, hiking, and learning the basics of jiu jitsu with her husband Lawrence and their two young boys.

Dr. Matsuoka was born and raised in Santa Cruz County. He always knew he wanted to pursue a medical profession, and after exploring different disciplines, optometry became his passion. Dr. Matsuoka is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned graduate degrees in Nutritional Sciences, Physiological Optics, and his Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Matsuoka has been practicing in Pleasant Hill since 1983. After specializing in optometry for 35 years, Dr. Matsuoka has gained experience in a variety of specialty eye care services, including specialty contact lenses, precision corneal molding, sports vision, and children’s vision. Dr. Matsuoka is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and Alameda Contra Costa Counties Optometric Association.

When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Matsuoka can be found golfing, playing tennis, bowling, jogging, and mountain biking. He also enjoys spending time with his German shepherds and riding his motorcycle.
